![]() ![]() If it leaves Obelisk as the only Monster on you Field, that’s not good. Losing the ability to attack in doing so is not great, but I suppose necessary…but seemingly unfair since you’re giving up so much. The destroy all Monsters (even at the cost of a double Tribute, meaning you invested 5 total Monsters to do that, counting the 3 to bring out this card) is great, if not costly. ![]() The protection attached is nice, as is not being able to be Targeted by things. Level 10 is good for Extra Deck plays, specifically XYZs of that Level. 4000 built in attack and defense is good. Most recently specifically, Obelisk was our 4000th Card of the Day. I felt like we’d done this (these) more than we had before doing this, but was surprised to see we only had twice. Obelisk does have some good qualities that makes it a decent monster overall, I would of just hoped for something more powerful from an Egyptian God.Īrt: 5/5 for the original, 4.5/5 for Takahashi’s art, and 3.5/5 for the Movie Pack Art. Both just kinda makes you not want to use that effect at all. I feel only one or the other restriction was necessary here, either the 2 monsters or the no attacking. You already gave up 3 monsters to summon this, so I don’t know how I feel about giving up 2 more to destroy your opponent’s board and THEN adding the restriction of this not attacking. This card allows you to Tribute 2 monsters in order to destroy every monster your opponent controls and Obelisk cannot attack the turn you use that effect. At least it will stay for a turn after you Special Summon it, and at least it can be Special Summoned, but this just makes Tribute Summoning even more preferred. Once per turn, during the End Phase, this monster sends itself to the graveyard if it was Special Summoned. It’s untargetable by any sort of effects whatsoever, which is ok protection to have, but I’d kinda hope a God Card would of had stronger protection overall. Also upon Normal Summon, cards and effects cannot be activated, which makes the summon even safer. The Normal Summon of this card cannot be negated, which you wouldn’t want to happen after you had to give up 3 monsters for it. It requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon it and you can’t Set, which makes sense for a God to require more to summon compared to any other high-Level monster. Very great stats overall, but the attribute and type are the nichest of niche in this entire game as I could count on a hand or two the cards with the attribute and/or type out of 10,000 cards. Obelisk is a Level 10 DIVINE Divine-Beast with 4000 ATK and DEF. It’s a new year and a new decade, and with three days left this week, why not look at some classic Egyptian Gods? We’ll start off 2020 with Obelisk the Tormentor. None of the Egypitan Gods could be as strong as they are in the anime, they wouldn’t be fair if they were, but as is Obelisk has been used in several decks throughout his time, whether it be as a tribute for something like Fog King to gain ATK, an OTK deck, tribute to deal damage to opponent, or its own deck. I wonder if it would be more playable if the destruction effect was like the anime and also deal 4000LP damage. Even without the effect you have a 4000ATK beatstick that requires your opponent to use a mass removal effect or get over it with stronger ATK. Scapegoat in the End Phase, pop 2 on your turn to destroy all your opponents monsters, link the two goats away for a Link and get more monsters on the field. The Raigeki effect is balanced with your inability to attack with Obelisk that turn, but you can still attack with other monsters. If you Special Summon it you can link it away before it leaves the End Phase, giving you something if your attack is blocked if you summon and attack with it. No tricks in summoning it, you’ve gotta use three, which I like, it shouldn’t be easy to summon something that can’t be targeted and has 4000ATK. Set ATK/DEF is beneficial vs Slifer and Ra. Obelisk the Tormentor was the first god card we saw in the show and his legal version doesn’t disappoint. Happy New Year and Happy New Decade! We’re kicking the New Year off with a stretch of the Egyptian Gods. ![]()

Well… they certainly souped up the graphics and sound. With Half-Life 3 presumed to be arriving sooner rather than later, and Valve confirming that they're far from through with Gordon Freeman, there may be a chance that the two characters could run into each other somewhere down the road. You'll see a more diverse set of environments in Portal 2. ![]() I want happy endings for everyone, the kind I’m not gonna get in real life - I mean, we’re all gonna die, let’s face it."Īs fatalistic as that way of thinking may be, it's nice to know that Chell is more than prepared for whatever the world may throw at her. I’m an adult, terrible sh*t happens to me all the time. She does get a happy ending, there’s no point in being negative about it, I just can’t let go of the fact that we know where she gets that happy ending, and there could be some danger out there. She gets serenaded on the way out, that’s always pleasant. It’s a fairly bucolic scene, it’s very nice. If nothing else we want to give her as happy ending as we can, entering into the Half-Life universe. Although having said that we don’t know how much time has passed - maybe the Combine have been beaten back and the world is nice. "The only qualification is something we’re just kind of saddled with - you know that the world to some extent has gone to sh*t, right? It’s not a happy world she’s exiting into. But even if the Combine invasion is unavoidable, the exact timeline of Portal 2 is never established, so Chell may just have a chance of riding happily into the sunset: So while Chell's fate may be left to the imagination of every Portal 2 player, Wolpaw admits that the facts of the Half-Life story are fairly straightforward. It's easy to understand why the writers would want to imagine a more stress-free future for Portal 2's protagonist, but the fact of the matter is that the future Earth of Half-Life is anything but a walk in the park. In my mind GlaDOS has given you the Companion Cube like “take your sh*t and go”, or the Companion Cube has been on its own adventure this whole time and just manages to escape at exactly the same moment you do, in which case it’s probably pissed."Īfter two whole games of death-defying feats and inspired puzzle-solving, Chell is more than deserving of a little time off. And you get the Companion Cube back - that could be good or bad, it’s not really clear. You learn whatever you learn and you’re out and it doesn’t look so bad - but we know the Combine’s probably lurking out there somewhere. We wanted to show you GlaDOS, show you Chell and then show you Wheatley - GlaDOS learns a lesson and promptly deletes it so she can set herself back to zero. "We did three endings, it’s a long series of endings. I always feel that’s a little bit cheap, I feel you the player as Chell have earned a moment of grace, right? There’s always that debate about ‘ooh we could pull the rug out from under you at the last minute’ which I guess we sorta did in Portal 1. ![]() ![]() "Depending on how… yes, generally speaking. Speaking with PC Gamer, Wolpaw shed some light on the finality of Chell's entry into the world, and whether or not she has a happy ending to look forward to: While that may not have been in the cards, Wolpaw has opened up about Chell's fate following her emancipation from GLaDOS' clutches, and whether the new world she steps into is one that holds her absolute freedom, or nothing but a barren planet. Portal 2's ARG marketing even hinted at Half-Life 3, so there's no denying the fact that both Chell and Gordon Freeman exist within the same world, if not the same timeline.īut with Portal 2, fans of both series were hoping for something a bit more concrete. The various connections between Aperture Science and Black Mesa, the shadowy organization responsible for bringing forth the inter-dimensional enemies of the Half-Life franchise known as the Combine have been hinted at and even openly referenced by writer Erik Wolpaw. After finally escaping the Aperture Science facility and the manipulative AI GLaDOS, the protagonist Chell rose up to catch a brief glimpse of the outside world, only to slip back into blackness, being dragged back into imprisonment. The ending of Portal managed to be both incredibly rewarding and somewhat of a disappointment. ![]() ![]() Older LEGO fans here will likely have fond memories of either their own sets or browsing the LEGO aisle in toy shops back in the ’80s and ’90s, when many of the bigger LEGO boxes used to have a cardboard flap on the front. They will have to improve it otherwise it will be overtaken by the competition. Too bad because I considered it one of the best free antivirus, if not the best. In my opinion they should fix some bugs that are penalizing him. It takes a lot of seconds or minutes to detect and delete the malicious file. ![]() Wake stub code must be resident in RTC Fast Memory.Honestly BD Free is a little disappointing both in the high RAM usage and because it is slow in removing / cleaning from malware. It is only necessary if you want to have special behavior immediately on wake. ![]() It is not necessary to implement esp_wake_deep_sleep() in your app in order to use deep sleep. If supplying a custom wake stub, the first thing it does should be to call the predefined esp_default_wake_deep_sleep() function. There is a default version of this function provided in ESP-IDF, but the default function is weak-linked so if your app contains a function named esp_wake_deep_sleep() then this will override the default. This function runs whenever the SoC wakes from deep sleep. The wake stub in ESP-IDF is called esp_wake_deep_sleep(). RTC memory regions hold their contents during deep sleep. After the wake stub runs, the SoC can go back to sleep or continue to start ESP-IDF normally.ĭeep sleep wake stub code is loaded into “RTC Fast Memory” and any data which it uses must also be loaded into RTC memory. This function runs immediately as soon as the chip wakes up - before any normal initialisation, bootloader, or ESP-IDF code has run. This possibility is rarely discussed, but is nevertheless documented by Espressif.ĮSP32 supports running a “deep sleep wake stub” when coming out of deep sleep. Now I would just like to draw your attention to an additional possibility concerning the waking phase after a deep sleep. - // Initialization // - // forward declaration void flashActiveLED () void setup () To Go One Step Further 5 Ultra to fast-boot in 20 seconds, and wake up from sleep mode in two seconds. So, if you want to use the data over reboot, store it into the RTC memory by defining a global variable with RTC_DATA_ATTR attribute: ExpressCache system by Diskeeper and AMD Radeon HD graphics card. And in the same way, we need to store the ledIndex value in the RTC memory to preserve it during deep sleep. That’s the reason, for example, the chip stores Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection data in RTC memory before disabling them. So, its content is preserved during deep sleep and can be retrieved after we wake the chip up. However, the RTC memory is kept powered on. The current value of ledIndex, which is stored in RAM, was not retained after the sleep phase. This is the reason why, after waking up, the active LED is that of index 0 (the red LED), regardless of the ledIndex value before going into deep sleep. So, everything stored in that memory is wiped out and cannot be accessed. Just to the right side of Put the computer to sleep, check the values to make sure they are set up properly. From the window that appears, click Choose when to turn off the display. This sleep pattern is known as ULP sensor-monitored pattern.Īlong with the CPU, the main memory of the chip is also disabled. On the far right, click Additional power settings. What the hell happened? You don’t get the same behavior at all as after a light sleep.ĭuring deep sleep mode, the main CPU is powered down, while the ULP coprocessor remains receptive to the timers or can perform sensor measurements and wakes up the main system when a timer is triggered, or based on the data measured by the sensors.
